Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum), also known as Lingzhi, Mannentake or glossy ganoderma, is one of the best-known medicinal mushrooms, valued for thousands of years in traditional Chinese, Japanese and other Asian medicine. Reishi is often called the “mushroom of immortality” because of its broad spectrum of health-promoting properties that support general health, vitality and longevity.

Mycelium development schedule
Unlike other edible mushrooms, Reishi is a “marathon runner” – it grows more slowly, but its transformations are spectacular.
- “Fingers” stage (Initiation): After about 14-28 days, pale protrusions will appear on the surface. This is a sign that the mycelium has entered the fruiting phase.
- Forming the structure: Over the next 1 to 6 months, the mushroom builds its characteristic antler-like forms or flat caps. You will watch a play of colours: from white and yellow to a shiny chestnut colour.
- Harvest time: The culminating moment is when the pale growth edge disappears and a rusty coating of spores appears on the surface of the mushroom.
Golden rules of cultivation
To enjoy success, provide the mycelium with the following conditions:
- Warmth: Keep the room temperature in the range of 20-26°C.
- Lighting: The place should be bright but protected from direct sunlight (diffused light).
- Watering: Do not open the bag, the full auto system maintains the required humidity inside the packaging by itself.
