The Growkit Aztec God Full Auto is a hand-prepared kit with live Psilocybe cubensis mycelium of the Aztec God line. We make the substrate ourselves, under sterile conditions. What goes into the parcel is a fresh batch, not a block that has spent months in cold storage.

Aztec God is a different product from Golden Teacher. Golden Teacher is the reference line from which most comparisons start. Aztec God is a genetic line of Mexican descent: denser mycelium, faster, more “lively” colonisation and a different story behind the name. If you already have the classic in your collection, the Aztec God growkit is a logical second kit.

The Full Auto format stays the same: a closed system with a growbag and a filter, with no daily airing or misting. You observe the Aztec God mycelium, document colonisation and compare its pace with other lines.

The product is legal in Poland as material for observation, education and collecting. The kit contains mycelium. At the time of purchase, the mycelium does not contain psilocybin. Fruiting bodies of psilocybin mushrooms are illegal.

The history of the Aztec God name

Aztec God is a modern line of Psilocybe cubensis, not to be confused with the separate species Psilocybe aztecorum. The name refers to Mesoamerica. In historical sources, mushrooms of the genus Psilocybe appear among the Nahua as teonanácatl – “flesh of the god”. This is cultural context, not a product description.

The cubensis strain described today as Aztec God is usually associated with the Mexican highlands. The area around Paso de Cortés and the slopes of Popocatépetl, south of Mexico City, is most often named. The mycological literature also mentions Roger Heim, who in the 1950s described Mexican Psilocybe and isolated material from this region.

The exact laboratory selection path is, as with many cubensis lines, partly undocumented. What is certain is something else: Aztec God became established in circulation as a Mexican, more intense-looking variety of cubensis. Hence the separate searches for Aztec God mushrooms, Aztec God mycelium and the Aztec God growkit, apart from Golden Teacher.

For a collector, this product makes sense when you want material of a different geographical origin and with a different growth rhythm from the “teacher”.

Characteristics of Aztec God mycelium

Aztec God mycelium is often described as rhizomorphic: dense, bright, often rope-like. In a well-made substrate it colonises the block faster and more densely than some calmer lines. During observation you can see this from the first days out of the fridge: the surface does not stand still.

In collectors’ descriptions, the Aztec God line has a fairly constant set of features:

• caramel to golden-brown cap, often with a wavy edge,
• pale, sturdy stem,
• dense, intensely white mycelium,
• colonisation pace that is fast rather than moderate.

This is not a copy of Golden Teacher under a different label. Golden Teacher is predictable and “flat” in its development. Aztec God fills the substrate more. In photo documentation and when examining with a magnifier, the difference is often clear already at the mycelium stage, before anyone would start thinking about fruiting bodies, and fruiting bodies are not what this shop is about.

Aztec God and psilocybin mushrooms

Aztec God mushrooms are Psilocybe cubensis. Psilocybin occurs in the fruiting bodies of this species – hence the proximity of the phrases “psilocybin mushrooms”, “effects” and “dosage”. This is context from the literature.

This shop sells a growkit with mycelium. Psilocybin is not present in the mycelium at the time of purchase. It appears only in the fruiting bodies. Growing and possessing fruiting bodies is prohibited in Poland.

On this page there is no Aztec God dosage, no description of the experience and no harvesting instructions. The Aztec God growkit is for legal observation of the mycelium. Other questions are beyond the scope of our offer.

What is in the kit and what to do after delivery

In the Aztec God growkit you get:

• a block with live Aztec God mycelium,
• a growbag with an air filter,
• a clip,
• a magnifier.

After delivery, put the kit in the fridge if you are not starting observation straight away. A temperature of 2-4°C slows development and protects the viability of the mycelium. Aztec God, like any fresh mycelium, does not cope well with waiting in a parcel locker or a warm hallway. Collect the parcel without unnecessary waiting.

When you take the kit out for observation:

• straighten the growbag so that the filter does not stick to the back wall,
• do not cut the bag open and do not take the Full Auto system apart,
• place the growkit at a stable temperature of 20-26°C, away from strong sunlight and radiators,
• leave the mycelium in peace – this format does not need to be opened every day.

This is product care, not instructions for growing fruiting bodies. The point is for the Aztec God mycelium to stay clear: for the magnifier, photos and the microscope.

How to store the Aztec God growkit

Freshness decides whether you will see a dense, white network or a grey, tired block.

• keep the kit in the fridge until you start observation,
• do not leave it in the car or by a window,
• do not open it “for a moment”,
• once it is open, do not go back to long-term storage as with factory packaging.

In the fridge, the Aztec God growkit usually keeps for anywhere from several weeks to several months, depending on the batch and on how quickly it left the workshop. A short journey from Poland is a real argument here, not decoration.

The Aztec God growkit already has live mycelium on the substrate. You observe colonisation and the structure of the block. Aztec God spores are for examining under a microscope and for collecting prints. If you need spores, choose a separate product page.

The instructions for the kit cover the fridge, straightening the bag and the observation temperature. They are not harvesting or dosage instructions. We do not answer the question of when to harvest Aztec God – harvesting fruiting bodies is outside the purpose of the product.
