Hillbilly is a classic, landrace Psilocybe Cubensis genetic line originating from the south-eastern United States, particularly the Appalachian region.
The name refers to the rural and mountainous character of the areas this strain comes from. The Hillbilly growkit is valued by researchers for its stable development and its characteristic, “natural” morphology.
Characteristics of the Hillbilly genetics
- Appearance: Medium-sized caps, usually reaching 5-7 cm in diameter, light brown to golden in colour, with slightly rounded, sometimes wavy edges. Solid, thick stem, white with a creamy tint, with a clear tendency to bruise blue where damaged.
- Origin: Natural genetics originating from the south-eastern US states, especially the rural and mountainous areas of the Appalachians. Traditionally associated with habitats rich in organic matter.
- Profile: A stable, classic Psilocybe Cubensis line with clear landrace features. It works well as comparison material for newer, heavily selected hybrids and isolates.

How to store
